The Project Manager is accountable for full project delivery-safety, quality, schedule, cost and stakeholder satisfaction. The role requires technical leadership for complex bridge and tunnel works, proactive planning and resource management, and direct engagement with the client (Nepal Army), subcontractors and authorities.
Key Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership and direction to deliver the project safely, on schedule, within budget and to contract quality standards.
Prepare, maintain and drive the integrated Project Execution Plan, detailed schedules (Primavera P6/MS Project), resource loading and recovery plans.
Lead technical execution for bridges, tunnels, cut-and-cover, slope protection and river training works; review and approve construction methods, temporary works and sequencing.
Manage project commercial aspects: cost control, forecasting, cashflow, variations, claims and approvals.
Supervise and coordinate design, QA/QC, site engineering and construction teams; manage subcontractors and consultant performance.
Ensure compliance with contracts (including FIDIC where applicable), client requirements, statutory regulations and environmental/social safeguard measures.
Implement and enforce robust HSE systems, lead safety culture, incident prevention and emergency response planning.
Identify, assess and mitigate project risks; maintain risk and change registers; drive mitigation and recovery actions.
Coordinate procurement, logistics and mobilization for critical long-lead items and plant.
Prepare and present regular progress, technical and commercial reports to senior management and the client, lead client liaison and stakeholder engagement.
Ensure accurate documentation control: as-built drawings, construction records, testing reports and final handover dossiers.
Mentor and develop the project management team; set KPIs and ensure accountability.
